A Look Back at my Collaborations with Poke King Restaurants.
Back in the Day, When I knew nothing about painting on walls, my friends at the OG Poke King Restaurant Blessed me with a space to paint my first Mural. Fast forward to the present, and we’re 4 projects deep, across 3 cities, and many colorful visions for the future.
A lot of homies ask me, “How do you get commission works, or creative freedom on your projects?” The answer was, is, and always will be relationships. Give a shit about people, ask people how their day is going, how their family has been, send them a holiday text letting them know you were thinking of them. These little relationships mean more than any amount of money you can make. On the flip side, cut out the relationships that drag you down, or where respect, honor, and dignity is not shown, why would you want to work with people like that anyway.
So I guess I’m here to say, thank you for getting me started and keeping it going. It feels good to have a symbiotic relationships with Homies that are pushing myself to be better with every project, and Embracing Art within their businesses.
